Welcome to STARZ Performing Arts Academy. Founded in 2000, STARZ is currently the only dance or performing arts academy in the area endorsed by the Mercer County Commission for performing arts education. Offering professional instruction in a positive, family-focused environment, our programs provide well-rounded education with emphasis on technique, performance, and an appreciation of the arts. STARZ currently offers classes for both Recreational and Competitive students in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Hip-Hop, Stretching & Conditioning, Technique & Progressions, Contortions, Tumbling, Acro, Piano, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory & Acting. Creative, focused, and competitive, our academy is highly dedicated to providing the Two Virginias with proper and exceptional instruction from Certified Teachers.  

STARZ presents two Student Recitals each year; STARZ Christmas Wonderland in December, and our Spring Recital in June. Both events are held at the Bluefield High School Performing Arts Center.

STARZ Performing Arts Academy is home to the Award Winning STARZ Competition Team, STARZ Apprentice Program, & STARZ en Pointe (Pre-professional Ballet Company). Our company dancers perform locally, compete at Regional & National Competitions, and have opportunities to audition for and study with some of the top Educators and Companies in the U.S.; American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, The Institute of American Musical Theatre, and more.

At STARZ Performing Arts Academy, we are dedicated to the physical, mental, and artistic development of our students. The dedicated, creative faculty at STARZ has over 120 years of combined experience in the arts. It is our goal to help our students express themselves through the art of dance, while also teaching valuable life skills such as teamwork, commitment, leadership, and respect for others. We aim to provide a positive environment for your child to excel at achieving their goals, improving self-esteem and interacting socially in a professional arena.
